Scène 5 – Le Retour de Samuel

Evening scene at a house front door. A thin young African man (Samuel, 20s) stands at the doorstep, worn clothes, a bag on his shoulder, eyes full of shame and exhaustion looking up. An African mother (Marie, 50s) stands in the doorway with arms wide open. He collapses into her embrace, his shoulders giving in. She holds him tight with eyes closed, face lifted toward the sky, lips forming a silent "thank you." The porch light wraps them both in a warm golden halo against the dark night.
